The Sundays after the Epiphany

Christ Jesus revealed to the nations
9:00 a.m. Worship

The season following Epiphany begins and ends with a festival day, each connecting to the Epiphany theme of Jesus revealed to the world. The season opens with the Baptism of our Lord and closes with the feast of the Transfiguration where each time a voice from heaven declares “This is my Son”.

Transfiguration of Our Lord

Sunday, February 14
Bringing the Season after Epiphany to a close: As Jesus was declared God’s beloved son at baptism so Jesus is again declared God’s beloved son at the Mount of Transfiguration.

Ash Wednesday

“Remember that you are dust, and to dust you shall return”
Beginning Lent – a season of renewal, a “spring cleaning” of the soul. Bring your palm fronds from last Palm Sunday if you have them. We begin the service outside with the burning of the palm fronds whose ashes we use for the Ash Wednesday liturgy.
